ACT CRM is one of the most common CRM solutions for medium and small businesses. CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management and is the new standard for providing excellent customer service. CRM by ACT was first introduced in 1985, and the company was purchased by Best Software in 2001. The latest ACT Customer Management product is ACT 2005. ACT 2005 is a well-developed CRM tool that builds upon their 20 years of CRM software development. ACT 2005 features improved access to customer information, tools to grow and manage customer relationships, schedule and calendar, improved sales & forecasting tools, ability to synchronize customer information with Microsoft Outlook, and ability to share ACT customer information with up to ten users. ACT 2005 is also available in a Premium CRM edition. The Premium CRM software allows for upgrade to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and expands abilities to share ACT customer information with up to fifty users. ACT has developed several CRM products including: ACT for Web, ACT for Palm, and ACT for Pocket PC. The ACT for Web CRM product allows ACT's CRM product to be hosted by a company's web server. This will allow remote users to connect to the CRM tool using a web browser at a remote location. The ACT for Palm and ACT for Pocket PC software allow the users of Palm and Pocket PC PDAs to access CRM data from their PDAs--when synced. ACT has developed integration tools that will allow ACT 2005 to link with Peachtree and QuickBooks software. These CRM integration tools allow Peachtree and QuickBooks accounting software to link with the ACD customer CRM data to be used for invoicing, sales, payments, billing, and other accounting transactions that a company would likely perform with their customers.
